The page with my fanart is not representative for general Fanlore practice though. First, it is not low-res versions but cropped thumbnails that have replaced the hi-res images, so in this instance it may be sort of like a quote, but usually this is not done with art on Fanlore. Actually I can't think of seeing another example where partial image previews of art were uploaded, rather than complete images.
Second, actually it was not the wiki committee giving in to not having full art, but after I posted a rant about the official response I got to my complaint, a regular wiki editor who read that uploaded new thumbnails, even while the wiki committee didn't offer anything besides making it full but smaller versions in email. I assume that it was left this way afterwards rather than being undone was mostly because I was quite insistent and vocal in my complaints, including complaining public in my journal when private emails were ineffective.
