Yes, you can absolutely get page titles and the links to them changed. I think gardeners (love that term) have to do it, but if you take a stroll through the recent changes log, (http://fanlore.org/wiki/Special:Recentchanges) you'll see lots of industrious people that can and do quickly fix things if the page title style needs a fix.
http://fanlore.org/wiki/Newsletter/Newsletter_Communities is a great page to go to if you're starting a new fandom page. Lots of the fandoms there are links to wiki pages that don't exist yet. If you click on it, the wiki will ask you if you want to make the page. When you do it that way, it's already linked in somewhere and the page starts out with the templates already there for you.
I used a couple of big popular fandom pages as guides when I made the Leverage page. Reading the talk pages helps too, to get a feel for what wheels have already been invented and the general consensus on style issues.
Never fear making mistakes, people will come and fix them, and add to your pages, it's the best part of fanlore.
