I haven't had much time to work on Fanlore articles, sadly, but I really enjoyed looking through all the new fansite pages you made! Old fansites are some of my favorite things to explore on Fanlore, they really bring on the nostalgia.
I think it's true that a lot of 1990s fansites in general were hosted by universities since that was the easiest way to get free web hosting. I know there were a lot of fansites hosted by US universities too (I think a bunch were on NYU), but I'm not sure about other countries.
