In addition to the ongoing fandom category project, a few more categories have been added by request: Poetry and newsgroups. There was also a request for a cookbook category, but I may have complicated matters by suggesting too many alternate names. Consensus on the Cookbook talk page, please?

I also started a thread here on how/whether to create a Vidder category, which I dimly recall someone mentioned in comments on an earlier post in this community. I haven't seen a formal request for this category.

You can always check out all the new categories added in the last few days.

In my mind a vidder category makes only sense if we subdivide the "fan" category in general, i.e. also have categories like fanwriter, archivist, fanartist, filker, conorganizer, zine editor (meaning the individuals rather than the zine publisher cat that currently lists presses iirc), etc. I see no reason to single out fans making videos.

ETA: However that would also mean that long-time multi-talented fans are quite likely to amass six or more categories, and I'm not sure how needed such categories really would be to find articles. I mean, why would anyone want to browse a list of all vidders in all fandoms ever? Specific people you can find anyway by search or by browsing alphabetically, and for finding out who "influential" vidders are you'd go to the vidding history article or the fandom articles.

re: comm pages, I don't think so. Communities aren't really any more "social networks" than message boards or mailing lists are. I thought these were supposed to go in "Fan Communities"?
