The First Fandom challenge!

Hear ye, hear ye -- the profile-a-comm challenge is now ending! You're welcome to keep profiling communities if you're having fun doing that, but we're hoping you'll be excited about the new challenge too. And that new challenge is:

First Fandom:

What was your first fandom? If it already has a page in Fanlore, go add something -- even if it's just a snip of memory ("[Your_name_here] remembers XYZ...") or a link to a notable fanwork. If it doesn't yet have a page, stub one out! Remember to focus on the fandom, not on canon. And this isn't just for live-action or fiction fandoms -- if your first fandom was anime or RPF or something else entirely, we want those pages, too!

If you need help with templates or setup, feel free to leave a comment on this post and we'll jump in to lend a hand.

This challenge will run for roughly two weeks. Dive in, and enjoy!

What a good idea.

A suggestion: could you add a link to Fanlore in these posts? It would help encourage "Actually, why not, maybe I'll check out Fanlore and see if there's a page on that" whims :)

I found footnotes on the Editing Cheatsheet page that's linked under the "Shortcuts for Editors" heading on the sidebar. I didn't know we had a formatting page (I just found it).

For what it's worth, there is not much on image formatting and nothing on galleries. Maybe you could add a section somewhere. :) I made a few notes in my user profile here: http://fanlore.org/wiki/User:Frogspace

wow, your notes looks very good. You could put them into a new [[Help:Image formatting]] page, and then we could either transclude the page into the Help:Formatting page or link between them.

Rosemary Sutcliff and The Eagle of the Ninth

I've created pages for Rosemary Sutcliff and her series The Eagle of the Ninth, and the upcoming film version The Eagle. Definitely not my first online fandom, but my first fandom as a wee baby slasher before I even knew what fandom was! It's so tiny but I hope the movie will stir some more interest.
