Many, many thanks to everyone who contributed to the most excellent Women Characters Challenge! There was an amazing outpouring of contributions — too many to even know where to begin highlighting all these incredibly women, their fandoms, and the contributors who wrote about them; check the comments on that challenge post to get a sampling of the great additions! Remember, you're always welcome return to a challenge, so come back and talk about women characters anytime!
For now, it's time for our new challenge:
Please do feel free to drop a comment letting us know what you've added, or to ask any questions you may have! This challenge will last through April 25; the clock starts now: ready — set — go!
Here are some resources to help you get going!
Take a look around the Tropes & Genres Category to get a feel for how these pages work — the top of the page lists a few pages that have lots of examples to take your cue from.
Once it comes to adding examples of your own, rustle up those links! For graphical fanworks, you can even upload an image — use the file uploading interface to get a thumbnail up on Fanlore!
Some code that may come in handy when adding examples (replace ALLCAPS with your own stuff!):
Please do spread the word about this challenge if you're so inclined, and have fun!

Examples Galore!
In keeping with April Showers, let's expand the range of examples on Fanlore! A lot of the examples given for fannish tropes and genres documented on Fanlore are fanworks from just a few fandoms. Find a trope or genre you like and add a link to a fanwork from your fandom. April Showers fandoms (first six already available, next group of six soon to come!) and all other fandoms welcome — just expand, expand, expand!

Some code that may come in handy when adding examples (replace ALLCAPS with your own stuff!):
- Add a Fanlore Link
[[TITLE]]
The TITLE is the title of the Fanlore page you want to link to — just copy it straight off the header! It will automatically link to that page, and the link text as displayed will be the page title. If no such page exists on Fanlore yet (go make it!), the link will still form, ready for whenever the page is made, but it will appear red. - Add an External Link
[LINK-URL LINK-TEXT]
LINK-URL is where the link will point, and LINK-TEXT is what you'll see displayed, so make the link text something relevant and descriptive! - Add a Bullet with a Link to Example
* [FANWORK-URL FANWORK-TITLE] by [[CREATOR]] ([[FANDOM]])
Feel free to add a description or quotes! Popular quote formats are italics (like so:''ITALICS'') for shorter quotes and blockquote (thusly —::BLOCKQUOTE::) for longer ones. - Add a Thumbnail Image
[[Image:FILENAME.TYPE|thumb|CAPTION [ORIGINAL-URL TEXT]]]
Feel free to mix it up with the caption — the above example includes a link to the original at the end. Feel free to add more — a link to the creator, the fandom; if it's an illustration, feel free to quote from the other fanwork! - Add a Gallery or Add Image to Existing Gallery
<gallery>
Image:ALT-TEXT1 FILENAME1.TYPE|CAPTION1
Image:ALT-TEXT2 FILENAME2.TYPE|CAPTION2
</gallery>
Use galleries for when you have several images to share on the same page. If a gallery already exists, add your image by starting a new line and using the image code above. Again, feel free to put whatever you feel fits in the caption! Characters, work title, creator, whatever works.
Please do spread the word about this challenge if you're so inclined, and have fun!
