Thank you to everyone who has participated thus far in Stub September! We had some great contributions last week, to both fandom pages and others!

The Stub September theme this week is characters!

Please keep in mind that Fanlore is a wiki about fandom, not canon. A brief overview of the character's canon background information is welcome and encouraged, but the focus of the page should be about fans' engagement with the character. Some ideas to get you started:

• What are fans' reactions to the character? Is the character well-liked or bashed?
  
• Are there any notable meta essays or discussions about the character?
  
• Is there any widespread fanon for the character?
  
• How commonly does the character appear in fanworks? Is there a popular role or trope for the character?
  
• With which other characters (if any) is the character 'shipped?
  
• Are there any communities or websites dedicated to the character? Any other online resources?

See the help article on character pages for more information. There is also a sample character page template that you may find useful, but it is not necessary to follow its structure.

Articles on real people that appear as characters in fanworks are treated a little differently on Fanlore, though most of the points above still apply. However, take care to separate "canon" information (about the actual person) from information about the RPF character. See Help:People pages and Help:RPF pages for more information.

I've had a go at Hannah Abbott; the article could do with earlier fanworks and info on response to her prior to JKR's announcement that she and Neville married, if anyone can help out? Will see what I can do for some of the other HP character stubs.

ETA: Had a go at Peter Pettigrew; surprisingly much to say about him.

BTW, I just updated the RPF help page.

If I have the time this week, I hope to add a bit more to the 1D member stubs, but I don't know as much about them.
