Come celebrate International Fanworks Day with Fanlore this week by participating in our IFD 2021 Fanlore Challenge!

Fanlore is pleased to announce that our week-long editing challenge for International Fanworks Day is back for a fourth year! Every day from 15-21 February, you can take part by completing the editing task of the day – and be rewarded with an awesome 80s-themed badge for your user page.

Day 1, February 15th: Happy International Fanworks Day! Get started by creating a Fanlore account!

Day 2, February 16th: Add an internal link to any page on Fanlore.

Day 3, February 17th: Add to any Glossary page.

Day 4, February 18th: Add a fanwork example to any character page.

Day 5, February 19th: Add something to any fanzine-related page.

Day 6, February 20th: Add three lines to any stub. The three lines do not need to be in the same section.

Day 7, February 21st: For our final challenge, create a page for any fanwork that doesn't yet have a page on Fanlore.

If these tasks seem too easy for you, there are bonus tasks for more experienced editors on the IFD 2021 Fanlore Challenge Help page, so give those a go! You can qualify for a badge by doing either one of the day’s tasks – or both.

IFD Fanlore Challenge

I only just realized I need to link an image proving I've taken part in these events! Here's an image with the dates:

Day 1: Added a little clarifying information on my user page
Day 2-3: I'm not sure if Day 2 will count since I merged it with Day 3, but I edited the "Author's Note" section in the glossary, which is also where I added an internal link to "AO3" and "disclaimers."
Day 4: Added a fanworks section as well as a few fanwork examples for Anders's character page

Hopefully I've done this right. My Fanlore username is "Bemused Writer." Let me know if I need to add something else. (^^)

Hi, Bemused Writer - thank you for posting this! We don't require image proof to award badges, but we might miss one or two on our patrol of the Recent Changes, so thank you for providing that information! I'll get those badges awarded to you right away.

If you want to make extra sure that we spot your edits and know which IFD Day they're for, you can include this information in the edit summary field, e.g. "IFD Fanlore Challenge Day 5".
